Mountainview Generating Station

Southern California Edison | Redlands, CA

City Youth Exposure went to Southern California Edison’s Mountainview Generating Station in Redlands, CA. Ten students in grades 7-8th from La Tijera K-8 School explored the first new major Los Angeles Basin power plant to be built in 30 years. They learned about the process of generating power and how it is distributed throughout Southern California.  The group was also enlightened about the history of the power plant, its efficiency, and careers in the science and engineering fields. We thank Steven Wellington who made this trip possible, Andre Farr for all of his support, and SCE employees who exceeded our expectations in teaching youth about power generation and for making this an awesome experience!
